Orlando Magic vs Indiana Pacers Preview and Prediction 11/9/2015

Written by: Chris Jacobson Follow me on twitter @CjacobsonSports

The Orlando Magic head to Indiana to face the Pacers on Monday night. The game is set to go at 7 p.m. est at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers are currently favored by 4. The Magic are coming off a solid win and cover over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday while the Indiana Pacers are coming a hard fought game vs Cleveland on Sunday afternoon. The Pacers dropped the game straight up vs the Cavs but did cover the seven point spread.

Indiana Pacers forward Paul George has been playing great in the early part of the season. George put up 32 points and grabbed 11 rebounds vs Cleveland on Sunday. George also put up 36 points vs Miami on Friday night. Monta Ellis played great as well yesterday vs the Cavs as he contributed 25 points in the loss. The Pacers are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games playing on no rest plus 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games vs a team with a losing record.

Elfrid Payton led the Magic in scoring on Saturday and they will need another solid performance from him if they want to win this game. Evan Fournier put up 17 points on Saturday as well. The Magic had seven players hit double digit scoring in their last game. It's unclear if Vucevic will be playing due to a knee injury. The Magic are a perfect 7-0 ATS on the season.

I expect the Magic to cover in this game if not win it outright. The Pacers expended a lot of energy on Sunday vs the Cavs and it will be a tough turnaround. Take the points here.

San Francisco 49ers vs NY Giants Preview & Prediction

San Francisco 49ers vs New York Giants

When: Sunday October 11 at 8:30pm est

Where: MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey

Spread: New York Giants -7

The New York Giants are coming off two straight wins and have aspirations of moving into first place in the NFC East while the 49ers have lost three straight games. The 49ers have at times looked lost out on the football field and look to be struggling to find an identity. San Francisco has actually been outscored 107-28 in their last three games. The 49ers will have their hands full on the road vs this New York Giants squad.

New York's quarterback Eli Manning is coming off a great performance vs the Buffalo Bills. Manning threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns on the road vs a strong Bills' defense. The Giants defense has come to play this season to date as they rank 11th in the league in scoring defense and first vs the run. This could spell trouble for the struggling 49ers' quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick has really struggled this season. He is coming off two flat out ugly games where he is averaging around 113 yards passing and has thrown five interceptions. It will be important for the 49ers to establish a running game to take some pressure off their qb but that will be a tall order in this game.

The 49ers are 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall plus 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss. The Giants are 5-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record plus 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games in Week 5.  This will definitely be a heavy public side in taking the Giants but I believe it is the right side until the 49ers can show us something. Lay the touchdown.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs VA Tech Hokies College Football Preview and Pick

College Football Preview: Ohio State vs VA Tech

Written by Chris Jacobson Follow on Twitter @CjacobsonSports

           When: 8:00 pm, Monday, September 7th, 2015
Where: Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, VA
Odds: Ohio State -14

The Virginia Tech Hokies open their season at home in Lane Stadium to battle the Ohio State Buckeyes. VA Tech's head coach Frank Beamer is in his 29th season with the Hokies. VA Tech beat Ohio State 35-21 on the road as 10 point underdogs but what will the outcome be this season? Let's take a look.

The Hokies finished last season 7-6 SU and 6-7 ATS. The Hokies have a great track record as home underdogs. VA Tech is 10-2 ATS as home underdogs under Frank Beamer and they are also 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games listed as dogs including five outright wins in that span. The defense for the Hokies is expected to be strong as they have eight returning defensive starters. This defensive unit gave up just over 20 ppg last season and could be one of the top defensive squads in the country this season.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are coming off a banner season winning the national title. The Buckeyes have a lot of talent returning from last year's team. Ohio State is loaded at the quarterback position with J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones. Two time Big Ten offensive player of the year Braxton Miller has moved to wide receiver. The talent doesn't stop at the QB position as the Buckeyes also boast running back Ezekiel Elliot who is expected to be a Heisman Trophy candidate. The Buckeyes are an impressive 36-15-1 ATS in their last 52 road games and 4-0 ATS in their last four non conference games.

I expect the Hokies to keep it within the number in this game. The Buckeyes could suffer from a national title hangover and the Hokies defense should keep it respectable. Lane Stadium is a tough environment for the visiting team. I suggest taking the Hokies plus the points.
