Alabama Crimson Tide vs Georgia Bulldogs College Football Betting Preview & Pick

The Alabama Crimson Tide are in an uphill battle now to get into the playoffs, after they suffered a shocking home loss to Mississippi two weeks ago. The Tide are now 3-1 on the year and will be facing a Georgia team that is 4-0 and still has aspirations of making it to the NCAA Playoffs. Written by David Hess Follow Me on Twitter @DavidHess311

The Alabama Crimson Tide were expected by some to take a step back this year as they lost a ton of talent from last years squad and that prediction may be coming true. Two weeks ago the Tide was beaten on their homefield by a Mississippi team that they have dominated for a while. Alabama did outgain the rebels by 70 yards, but still the rebels found a way to win the game as 9 point dogs. The Alabama offense was fine as they put up 503 yards, but it was their defense that struggled as they allowed 43 points and 443 yards in the contest. It is the same old thing with Alabama. They just struggle vs team that really push the pace like OLe Miss Does and like Georgia will this week. Case in point as Alabama had a very good defensive showing in their opening week game vs Wisconsin, which is more of a pedestrian team. The Alabama defense will have their hands full in this one.

The Georgia Bulldogs come in a 4-0 on the year and 2-0 in the SEC. Te SEC wins include 52-20 destruction of South Carolina at home and a 31-14 win at Vanderbilt. This is a team that many thought would challenge for the SEC title his year as they returned 13 starters from last year and have one of the best offenses in the league. So far so good for this team and a win here will put them in great shape to getting to the SEC Title game, plus more importantly a chance at getting to the NCAA playoffs. The Bulldogs run the kind of offense that gives the Tide fits as they running the hurry up no-huddle type of offense. So far that offense has put up 490 ypg and 45.5 ppg, but this team is not all about offense, as their defense is very tough, allowing just 273 ypg and 13.5 ppg so far.

Both of these teams are solid offensive teams, but both do run more than they pass and that will keep the clock moving. Both teams are also excellent defense teams as well, which will also keep the scoring down. Alabama normally struggles on defense vs uptempo teams, but I see them having a good game vs the Dawgs in this one, while Georgia’s stout defense should have a good showing vs a very inconsistent Alabama offense. This one should be a tight defensive Battle.
