San Antonio Spurs vs Portland Trailblazers NBA Betting Odds & Free Pick

NBA Preview: San Antonio Spurs vs Portland Trailblazers

When: 10:35 PM ET, Wednesday, November 11, 2015
Where: Moda Center at The Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon
Lines: San Antonio -7
Total: 202.5

The San Antonio Spurs are loaded again and it starts with them retaining Kawhi Leonard for 5 more years. They also got a great deal in bringing David West in and they signed the most sought after free agent in the league in Lamarcus Aldridge. The rich just get richer. They did lose Belinelli and Splitter, but also have back Parker and Duncan. Both players are in the twilight of their careers, but both can still be productive and both are a very important veteran presence that can really be valuable in the postseason. The Spurs have started out nicely with a 5-2 record, but both of their losses have come on the road and they are 4-13 their last 17 meetings with Portland.

The Portland Trailblazers are not expected to do much this year as the loss of Aldridge will be huge. That makes this game even more intriguing as it Aldridge will face his former team for the first time since signing with the Spurs. So far the Trailblazers have not been as bad as expected as they are 4-4 on the year at the start, but they do come in off back-to-back losses to  Detroit and Denver. Offensively this team has been solid this year as they come in ranked 6th in the league in scoring at 103.8 ppg, but defensively it has not been so good as they rank 21st in points allowed, giving up 102.8 ppg.

Free NBA Pick: San Antonio -7 over Portland

I will go with the Spurs in this game. I know that they have struggled to cover in this series, but they are the better team hat seems to be really playing with a purpose to start the year. I can really see Aldridge having a big game vs his former team and that should elevate the rest of the team to have a big game as well. Portland has allowed 114 ppg in their last two games, while the Spurs are the top shooting team in the league and the third ranked defensive squad as well, allowing just 91.7 ppg on the year. Spurs roll here.
