Oklahoma City Thunder vs Chicago Bulls Thursday Night NBA Preview & Prediction

Oklahoma City Thunder Vs Chicago Bulls

Thursday night NBA action and I will take a look at the game between the Oklahoma City and the Chicago Bulls, which will take place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. According to the Oklahoma City Thunder vs Chicago Bulls Betting Odds at Bodog Basketball, the game has been listed as a PK, while the total has been set at 208.

Last year was the first time since the 2008-2009 season that the Thunder had missed the playoffs and injuries played a pretty big roll down the stretch. Russell Westbrook missed some time again and only played in 67 games, but the big blow was having Durant on the floor for just 27 of the 82 games played. Scott Brooks was let go in the offseason so the task of holding this team together now falls on the shoulders of Billy Donovan, who makes the jump from the colleges to the pros. With Westbrook, Durant and Ibaka this is a very dangerous team that should have little trouble in winning the Northwest Division. OKC has started off on the right foot with a 3-1 record and an offense that has averaged 118.2 ppg.

The Bulls had another solid year as they went 50-32 overall and they made it to the Eastern Conference Semis, before bowing out to Cleveland in 6 games. The Bulls actually had a 2-1 lead in that series, before losing the last 3 games. The Bulls have had a few solid seasons in a row, but solid is not what they are looking for so out is Tom Thibodeau and in steps Fred Hoiberg, who is now charged with taking the team to level beyond solid. A big plus for the Bulls last year was that Derrick Rose played more than 39 games, which is something he hadn’t done in the last 2 years. Last year he played in 51 regular season games, after playing in just 49 the last 2 years combined. Having Derrick play more than he sits is obviously a big deal for the Bulls. Hoiberg’s first task is jumpstarting an offense that has just been stuck in the mud the last few years. His hopes are of making this team a more uptempo team, instead of the grind it out team we have known the last few years. Defensively this team will be solid as usual, so with more scoring it will make it hard to beat this team consistently. Hoiberg is a high energy guy and he has all the right pieces this year to make a strong run at the Eastern Conference Championship.

Pick: Oklahoma City PK

The Bulls are a team that will compete for the Eastern Conference, but still the West is the better conference and Oklahoma State resides in the West. The Thunder are 10-4 their last 14 in the series and they are what we call a mission team this year, after missing out on the playoffs. They are the better team here and should walk away with a huge road win in this one.
