The Los Angeles Lakers are in for a long year as they currently stand at 3-19 overall and 2-13 on the road. The Lakers have won just 1 of their last 13 games and have been outscored by 10.4 ppg on the road. If it wasn’t for the Sixers then this would be the worst team in the league by far. The Lakers have been a bad team at both ends of the court this year as they come in ranked 23rd in the league in scoring, putting up just 97.5 ppg, while on defense they are 27th in points allowed, giving up 106.3 ppg. It will be a long last season for Kobe.
The San Antonio Spurs are off to a solid 18-5 start to their year , which includes a perfect 11-0 mark at home. The Spurs come in off a 3 point road loss to the Raptors, so they may be a bit pissed for this game. The Spurs have really done with a defense that ranks tops in the league this year allowing just 88.7 ppg. They have allowed even less than that at home where they have allowed just 85.6 ppg on the year. Their defensive play has allowed them to slow the game down on offense, which will help them conserve their energy through the course of a long season. The Spurs still shoot the ball well as they rank 3rd in that department, but they only score 99.9 ppg, which is good for just 20th in the league.

The San Antonio Spurs are the best defensive team in the league as they come in allowing just 88.7 ppg overall, while at home they have even been stingier, allowing 85.6 ppg. The Lakers do average 96.5 ppg on the road, but the Spurs have allowed more than 94 points just twice at home all year long. The Lakers like to pay fast, but the Spurs will slow the game down here as they have really used a slower pace of play this year. The Spurs are used to 105+ ppg, but so far this year they have put up just 99 ppg overall and the same number at home. This one has 102-88 written all over it as the Spurs know they have the defense to win this one easily and won't have to look to score a ton.
