Luke Falk Stars In Cougars Win Over Beavers
QB Luke Falk had a monster game in Washington State’s 52-31 win over the Oregon State Beavers last week. In the game Fau hit 39 of 50 passes for 407 yards. He also threw six TD passes and had two INTs. His main target in the game was Dom Williams, who caught 11 passes for 158 yards and two TDs. For the year now Falk has hit 72.3% of his passes for 2371 yards, with 21 TDs to just four INTs.
He is a the reason that the Cougars rank 4th in the nation in passing, putting up 398.5 ypg on the season. Overall the Cougars rank 29th in total yards and 36th in scoring (35 ppg). The defense for the Cougars has not been good though as they come in ranked 86th in total yards allowed, 110th vs the run and 85th in points allowed, giving up 29.2 ppg. Washington State will look to get their revenge for a 59-37 loss at home to the Wildcats last year.
Jared Baker Powers Arizona Past Colorado
Running back Jared Baker got some playing time filling in for the injured Nick Wilson. Well he made the most of it by rushing for 207 yards on just 23 carries. That translates to a 9.0 ypc average. Not bad for a backup. QB Anu Solomon also had a solid game, throwing for 283 yards and two TDs in the wild 38-31 win. Solomon has now hit 63% of his passes for the year for 1392 yards, with 13 TDs and zero INTs.
Arizona has been a powerful offensive team all year, ranking 8th in total yards, 54th in passing, 6th in rushing and 9th in points scored, putting up 41.7 ppg on the year. The defense has not been so good as they come in ranked 93 in total yards allowed, 91st vs the pass and 90th in points allowed (30.6 ppg). You might see Arizona’s run game attack that porous rush defense of the Cougars in this one.
