Odds: The Line opened with
the Bengals as 3 point favorites and it has held that way so far. The OU line
Opened at 45.5 and has been bet up to 47.
The
San Diego Chargers had a big home win over Detroit in their first game of the
season. It didn’t start off good for them as they were does 21-3 early in the
game, before putting it all together to get the 33-28 win. In the game the
Chargers outgained Detroit by 181 yards, including outgaining them by 155 yards
through the air. Philip Rivers had a monster game as he completed 35 of 42
passes for 404 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs. Another player that had a monster
game was Keenan Allen, who caught 15 pass for 166 yards. He didn’t find the
endzone though. This is not the Chargers offense we have been used to seeing
the last couple of years as they really opened it up vs Detroit. They may need
to again vs the high flying Bengals in this one.
The
Bengals played a much weaker opponent in week I as they took a trip to the West
coast to take on the Raiders. The game was really never in doubt as Cincinnati
was up 24-0 at the half and 33-0 after 3, before the Raiders scored the Final 13
points in the game. Andy Dalton had a fine game as he connected on 25 of 34
passes for 269 yards with 2 TDs and 0 INTs. TE Tyler Eifert was his main target
in the game as he caught 9 passes for 104 yards and both TDs that Dalton threw.
The Bengals defense played very well as hey held the Raiders to just 246 yards.
McGloin and Carr combined to complete 30 of 43 passes, but for just 186 yards,
which translates to just 4.3 ypa. Coming into the year the defense was to be a
strength of the Bengals and it was in game one. They will be tested by a much
tougher offense in this one.

Both teams possess
very good offenses and passing games, but these two teams are still run first
offensive teams and I look for them to get back to the run in this one. The
Chargers defense really played better than the 28 points they allowed would
indicate as Rivers threw a couple of picks, one of which was returned for a TD
and the other set up Detroit in prime field position. The Chargers only allowed
302 total yards in the game. The Bengal defense was very good in their opening
week game and playing at home should really have them pumped on that side of the
ball. Both of these defenses are solid and that should keep this game from
being too high scoring.
