The Utah State Aggies look like they could be in for a big year. Last season they wet 10-4 on the year and bring back 15 starters from tat team, including 9 on offense. Part of that offense is QB Chuchie Keeton, who when healthy is one of the more exciting players in the land. Last year he played in only 6 games due to injury. Well he is healthy now and is rated as the best QB in the MWC, but he didn't really look like it in his opener vs FCS foe Southern Utah, as he ht just 16 of 33 pass for 110 yards with an INT and no TDs in the Aggies 12-9 lackluster win. Overall the Aggies put up just 250 yards of offense. The defense though looked very good as they allowed SU just 163 yards of total offense. This defense has 6 starters back from last years team that allowed just 19.7 ppg. They will be strong on that side of the ball again.
The Utah Utes also come in at 1-0 on the year, but their opponent was a bit tougher than the one that the Aggies played. In their opener the Utes grabbed a big win at home of Big 10 foe Michigan. This was a tight game throughout, but a TD with 54 seconds left in the game gave the Utes the 24-17 win. Utah was actually outgained in the game by 18 yards and they really looked sluggish at times on offense. The Utes were able to muster just 337 yards of total offense in the game. Travis Wilson did play well as he hit 24-33 passes for 208 yards, while also rushing for 53 yards and a TD. Utah isn't really built for their offense, but they are built for playing some strong defense. The defense has 7 starters and 29 lettermen back from a team that allowed 24.9 ppg and hey did look good in the game vs Michigan, allowing just 355 yards of offense, while also picking off 3 passes. Watch out for this team as they will be a factor in the Pac-12 race.

Defense looks like it is the key in this game. Both of these offenses really struggled in their opening games, while both of the defenses were very good. That is a recipe for a low scoring game and i expect that here. The Utes defense may be the 2nd best in the Pac-12 as they have 7 starers back and plenty of depth on that side of the ball. They did a good holding down Michigan's offense and they should have the same success vs the Aggies. Utah is not a strong offensive squad and are a very conservative offensive squad, which should allow a very solid Aggie defense to hold them in check as well. This game has just too much defense on the field to think that they can get to 45 points. I say it stays in the 30s.
