When: 1:00 PM ET, Sunday, September 20, 2015
Where: TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Televised: CBS
Odds: The Vikings started out as 1.5 point favorites and have now been bet up to 2.5 point favorites. The OU line opened at 45.5 and has been bet down to 44.5.
The San Diego Chargers have started out 1-1 on the year as they beat Detroit in their home opener, but lost to Cincinnati on the road last week. That’s pretty what has been expected of the Chargers this year as they really do look like a .500 team on paper. Their offense has a chance to be good, but they need to get more out of their running game and Rivers would like to see another WR step up besides Allen. in game 1 he had 15 catches and they won. In game 2 he had 2 catches and they lost. The defense hasn’t been great either in their first two games as they have allowed 26 ppg so far. This Chargers team has some talent, but it also young and will take some time to gel. I still say this is a .500 team this year.
The Minnesota Vikings had very high hopes this year and were the sexy pick by a lot of people to be the surprise of the NFL, and they still might be, but after their 20-3 week loss to the Niners many were re-thinking their position on this team. They were thoroughly beaten on both sides of the ball in that game. They bounced back with a big 26-16 win over Detroit at home last week and after getting gashed on the ground by the Niners rushing attack, they held the Lions to just 38 yards on the ground. The Lions did put up 285 yards passing, but still it was a good defensive effort from the Vikings as they caused 3 turnovers in the game. The Vikings also struggled to run the ball in the game vs the Niners, but they fixed that last week as they had 199 yards on the ground, with 134 coming from Peterson. One bad game and one good game from the Vikes. Which team will show up this week?

Early start time here for the Chargers and it could have their offense a little sluggish. San Diego is really hoping to get their running game going and it looked a bit better in last week’s loss to the Bengals. The Vikings also want to run the ball and they had great success last week, which resulted in a win for them. They key to both offenses is ball control and using the clock and when you have both teams doing that on offense it really will shorten the game and make it very hard to get 40+ points here. Let’s look for around 35 points in this one.
